With another summer of record heat and little rain we were grateful to have an inground irrigation system in the flower beds. Even with very high temperatures we were able to keep plants, trees, and shrubs healthy and thriving.
We would like to acknowledge the support and generosity of OnRope Services. In April we were notified by a neighbor near the courts, that the United States and Oregon flags were on the ground. After an inspection by Brett Gebhardt, the project manager for OnRope Services, we arranged to have the company climb the flagpole and repair the internal pulley system. Unfortunately, it was going to be very expensive, but a necessary job. The day before the scheduled repair, we received a call from Brett, letting us know that the repair had been completed and there would be no cost. Ken Meyers, the owner of OnRope Services, donated their services in memory of Alex. We are so grateful for their thoughtful generosity.
June 15th the courts were power washed to remove the pollen and mildew from the past year. By doing this yearly, it prevents build up and keeps the newly resurfaced courts in top condition.
On may 17th the Alex Rovello Memorial Award, Cleveland High School, Most Outstanding Player was awarded at the courts. The award was presented by coach Brian Allmer to Santiago Ferbel-Azcarate. Congratulations to Santiago and the team of which he was part.
Again this year, the Eichentopf family of Otto’s Sausage Kitchen generously supported the Alex Rovello Memorial Foundation at WoodStock Gives Back celebration. Joining Otto’s was King Estate Winery who was offering tastings and donating a portion of their sales to the foundation. Many thanks to all of you for a fun event and a change to catch up with many friends and supporters.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you whose donations have allowed us to continue our work, ensuring the legacy of Alex will continue to flourish, for all to enjoy.
Wishing you all the best in 2024.
Jim & Geri Rovello
