2023 Overview of the Alex Rovello Memorial Fund

With another summer of record heat and little rain we were grateful to have an inground irrigation system in the flower beds. Even with very high temperatures we were able to keep plants, trees, and shrubs healthy and thriving.

We would like to acknowledge the support and generosity of OnRope Services. In April we were notified by a neighbor near the courts, that the (more…)

2022 Overview of the Alex Rovello Memorial Fund

2022 was another year of weather highs and lows, but thankfully we made it through without major problems. In March, Oregon Tree Care pruned the pin oaks on Cesar E Chavez, cleaning up branches from the previous year’s ice storm. The new flower beds and landscaping that went in last summer came through a mild winter with a show (more…)

2021 Overview of the Alex Rovello Memorial Fund

As we headed into the second year of the 2019 Covid pandemic, we were also challenged by winter snow and ice and unprecedented heat in the summer. The Berkeley courts were busy all year drawing our community players as well as folks from all over the city. Summer youth tennis programs were held at the courts with Portland  Parks & Recreation coaches and we wrapped our program season by  (more…)
